Pentapeptide-18 is a modied enkephalin that binds to enkephalin receptors outside nerve
cells and releases the G protein group (α, β, γ). In this way, the calcium ion channel is closed,
the vesicles cannot be fused, resulting in blocked release of acetylcholine and the neurons in
a non-excited state. As a result, muscle contraction is reduced, preventing ne lines and
wrinkles.
